Google AdSense Substitutes Ad Networks with Authorized Purchasers

AdSense

Google will also substitute the Ad Networks block with Authorized Buyers control on November 6, which will permit new buyers automatically and will keep the existing blocks.

Google is revising the demand source management of AdSense, and the Authorized Buyers control is substituting the Ad Networks blocking control.

This modification impacts the control of the sources of demand that are allowed to bid on your inventory. November 6 is the date of transition. Blocks that are in existence will stay in place, and new authorized buyers will be enabled by default.

What’s Changing

Google is eliminating the ad networks’ blocking control in brand safety and adding a new authorized buyer’s control.

With this update, the feature of allowing new Google-certified ad networks by default is being removed. Instead, the default setting will permit new permissionable purchasers.

The Authorized Buyers list does not include the inactive ad networks, test ad networks, and Display and Video 360 (DV360) networks.

According to Google, the new page gives you an opportunity to allow and deny authorized buyers and offers a more thorough analysis of the parent-child relationships between buyers. Nonetheless, DV360 accounts are not under the control of the new power.

Timeline & Transition

Before launching, you may preview the view-only Authorized Buyers page in AdSense by proceeding to Brand Safety → Content → Blocking restrictions → Authorized Buyers.

These measures will become operational following November 6. All alterations to Ad Networks before the launch will be preserved and displayed in the Authorized Buyers area.

After the update is implemented, manage access by proceeding to Brand Safety → Content → Blocking restrictions → Authorized Buyers. You can provide or deny access to specific authorized purchasers and employ search or filters to find particular entries.

Google’s comprehensive article on “Allow and block authorized buyers” elucidates this procedure.

Advertising Review Center and DV360

You will no longer manage authorized buyers via the Ad Review Center. You may continue to permit or restrict Google ad accounts in the Advertiser section, including DV360 accounts, which remain outside the new Authorized Buyers framework.

Looking Ahead

This update modifies the default setting to allow new purchasers, necessitating a routine approval process to mitigate the risk of undesirable buyers.

Examine the interface immediately to acquaint your team with control placements, then arrange a post-launch review to confirm your current blocks and any additional additions. Manage DV360 workflows within the Ad Review Center and employ the parent–child perspective to analyze the impact of associated buyers on bidding and revenue.
