Meta Unveils New Video and AI Features at Advertising Week: Boosting Innovation in Digital Advertising

New Video

Meta unveils a video tab, artificial intelligence-focused advertisement tools, and creator collaboration tools.

Meta revealed several changes to the company’s advertising product layer, including developments in video, AI-based ads, and creator business models.

The firm says these improvements are particularly pertinent given that 60% of users’ time on Facebook and Instagram is spent viewing videos.

New Video Tab on Facebook

Meta is adding a new video section on Facebook to integrate Reels, weighty clips, and broadcasts.

This fits well with the company’s plans, under which most of the content shared across various platforms is video.

AI-Generated Ad Tools Expand

According to Meta, 15 million advertisements were made last month, and around 1 million marketers use AI ad production tools monthly.

Meta claims that when compared to traditional advertising, the use of these AI talents increased click-through and conversion rates.

Meta is launching two new video-focused AI technologies to build on this success:
  • Video Expansion: This feature allows video assets to be re-sized to different aspect ratios to give viewers an enhanced experience when viewing materials on various platforms.
  • Image Animation: Certain features, such as the ability for advertisers to convert static images into videos for Instagram Reels, respondents have argued that resource constraints for smaller businesses are now realities.

By early 2025, these functionalities should be widely accessible.

The business claims that testing, including partnership advertisements in running campaigns, decreased Cost Per Action by an average of 19%.

Looking Ahead

With social media usage still dominated by video consumption, Meta’s most recent improvements demonstrate its approach to assisting marketers in adjusting to this change.

These features indicate Meta’s approach to social media advertising in the future, even if the majority will be introduced gradually.
